• Choral Test

  Hi Choirs!

  The first choral test will take place during your class time(Pd. 9) on Thursday, November 2.  No class! But please come to Music Room at your scheduled time below.

  Bring your music (Winter Lullaby, Hold Fast to Dreams, It's beginning to look like Christmas) and arrive at your test 5 minutes prior to your scheduled time.

• Choral Placement Hearings (Period 3)

  Hi Choirs,

   

  Fall 2023 Choral Placement Hearings will take place during your Chorus Class time on Wednesday, September 13. No class! But please come to Music Room at your scheduled time below.

  Where: Music room (504)

  When: Wednesday, September 13, 9:39am-10:19am (Period 3)

   

  Abigail: 9:40

  Angela: 9:45

  Aurora: 9:50

  Alahna: 9:55

  Julia: 10:00

  Brianna: 10:05

  What are hearings?   

   

  It’s not Audition! No Pressure! The hearings are usually used to determine many factors, including voicing in choral ensembles and possible placement in select ensembles for concerts and are conducted by Mr. Lim.

   

   What to Prepare and Expect

   

  • Arrive at your hearing 5 minutes prior to your scheduled time.
  • You will be asked to sing America (My Country, ‘Tis of Thee) or “Happy Birthday”
  • Vocalizes to determine your range
  • Short pitch matching and recall exercises (a 4-5 note pattern will be played on the piano-you sing it back)
  • Your placement hearing will last about 4-5 minutes

  Chorus for Fall 2023

• Welcome to Chorus!

  Dear Choir Students,

  It is with immense excitement and joy that I extend a warm welcome to each of you to Chorus!  Get ready to embark on a melodious journey filled with harmony, unity, and the pure joy of making music together.

  Whether you're an experienced singer or someone who just loves to sing in the shower, this choir is your canvas to paint your musical dreams upon. My goal is to inspire and cultivate your vocal talents, foster a deep appreciation for choral music, and build lasting friendships along the way.

  If you ever have questions, need assistance, or just want to chat about your favorite songs, remember that your music teacher Mr. Robin Lim is here for you.

  Our first class meeting will be on Monday, September 11 / Period 2 or Period 9/ at Music Room (504)  

  And I just wanted to give you all a heads up that this is a performance-based course and you are expected to be available for the following dates:

  Christmas Concert @SVF Church: Saturday, December 10th, 7:30-9pm  (Dress Rehearsal will begin at 4 :30pm)

  Christmas Concert@School: Wednesday, December 20th, during school time

  Rehearsals Outside of Class Time: To be announced
